Ready for some kind of break, the 13-year-old singer/songwriter turns to his loyal group of friends in the visual for the heartbreak tune, attending an age-appropriate house party filled with dancing, ping pong and, of course, silly string.
In between the festivities, he meets a girl, who seemingly removes all ex-girlfriend woes. Chance takes the fun outside when he and the rest of the house party pay a visit to his former flame's house, covering it in toilet paper, all before showing off his new gal pal.
MTV News caught up with the budding star on the video's Los Angeles-based set, where he gushed about partaking in some on-camera teen mischief. "It's been so much fun already shooting it," he said. "We got to TP this house ... This is just more things leading up to the record, so I'm really excited for it."
As for why the YouTube phenomenon felt the heartbreak tune was fitting as the lead single off his debut album Hold On 'Til the Night, Chance explained, "I think 'Unfriend You' is an amazing record because, one, it's a breakup song, which breakup songs are always fun, and two, it's referencing social media, especially in this day and age, I think it's very important to reference social media in music."
Fans who can't stop listening to "Unfriend You" might find a similar liking to the rest of the singer's new LP, which drops August 2, since it also deals with the trials of heartache. "When I was writing this record, and especially when I was in the studio cutting 'Unfriend You,' I was heartbroken, so it felt good to express myself through the music and through the art of it," the singer explained.

LEWISTON, Maine ? Dr. William Phillips figured he was being kidded when a lecture on coronary heart disease was interrupted by a man complaining of chest pain.

As Phillips and the nurses began CPR, more than 100 people, many with histories of heart problems, watched.
?What I?m hoping is that they got the lesson about calling 911,? he said. ?They got to see firsthand the importance of immediate response.?
The lecture had begun in the usual way.
Folks gathered Monday evening in a conference room at 12 High St. beside Central Maine Medical Center. The topic was a comparison of bypass surgery versus stenting for heart patients.
?We were talking about angina and this man raised his hand and said, ?I?m having it right now,?? Phillips said. ?I said, ?Are you kidding??
?And he said, ?No.??
That?s when Phillips got serious.
?I said to one of the nurses, ?Could you get a wheelchair and take him over to the emergency room??? Phillips said.
There wasn?t time, though. The man collapsed and Phillips ran to his side.
?In the meantime, he had completely arrested,? the doctor said. ?He had no pulse. He wasn?t breathing. We started CPR and everybody?s standing around.?
Three cardiac rehab nurses ? Brenda Robitaille, Nicola Adams and Heidi Langois ? were there, too.
?It wasn?t just me,? Phillips said. ?If I had been alone, it would have been terrible.?
One of the nurses brought in an automated external defibrillator, a portable electronic device that diagnoses a sudden, life-threatening heart problem and shocks the heart back into rhythm.
?The AED saved his life,? Phillips said.
?Then, (paramedics) came in the door,? he said. ?They started an IV. They gave him an EKG and took the patient over to the emergency room.?
Later, Phillips checked in on the man.
?I went over to the emergency room, and he was sitting up in the bed, talking with his wife and waiting for test results,? the doctor said. Central Maine Medical Center declined to identify the patient, citing confidentiality laws.
But before Phillips checked on the man, he had a lecture to finish.
?After we had taken a breather, everybody wanted to continue on with the talk,? he said. ?It was a pretty impressive event. I think the people there will remember the lecture for that.?
Phillips hopes the attendees will remember the importance of rapid response to heart problems.
?What if the man had been driving himself to the hospital?? Phillips said. The incident also highlighted the use of AEDs.
A West Paris man used one to save his father on June 12. The devices are becoming more common in local institutions such as schools.
?This is the second time in as many weeks that a local (AED) has saved a life,? Phillips said.

For years, Sting?s character has had the traits of comic book vigilantes such as The Crow and Batman. Now he has morphed into a babyface version of The Joker.
Sting, who exhibited some over-the-top behavior on last week?s episode of Impact Wrestling, appeared to be channeling Heath Ledger?s character in ?The Dark Knight? on Thursday night?s show. Not only was his face paint Joker-like, but so were his mannerisms and maniacal ramblings.
I have to say that Sting?s performance and his confrontation with Eric Bischoff that opened the show were quite entertaining, but his sudden descent into madness doesn?t really make sense from a story line standpoint ? that is, unless I missed the episode when some traumatic event caused Sting to snap.
I like the idea of taking Sting?s character in a different direction to keep it fresh and he?s doing a good job with it, but it would be a lot easier for me to buy into this angle if there had been some buildup to it.

Sting ? who attacked Bischoff and smeared his face with red paint at the beginning of the program ? continued to show his violent side during his main event match against Abyss. After taking a glove wrapped in barbed wire away from Abyss, Sting proceeded to bust him open with it (thus losing the match by disqualification). He continued to pound on Abyss? head with the glove while looking into the eyes of Mr. Anderson, who had come out on the ramp. Anderson sold concern over the prospect of having to face a much more dangerous Sting. ...
I like that TNA is announcing the results of Bound for Glory Series matches that had taken place on house shows and showing brief clips of them. That?s helps to get the BFG Series concept over and also makes house shows seem more important. ...

There's a new famous mayor on the scene and he's getting serious about his social media presence.
Rahm Emanuel announced today that his first Facebook Town Hall, #AskChicago, will be held next week on Thursday, June 30 at 1:30pm.
Kevin Hauswirth, Chicago's first-ever Social Media Director, tells me this marks the first time a sitting mayor of a major city will hold a live online and Facebook chat in which questions will be submitted and ranked by the public.
"Mayor Emanuel is truly serious about building a more open, transparent government. We're taking that commitment to the social media space," Hauswirth says. "Everyday Chicagoans are talking about how to make this city even greater and Mayor's Office wants to be part of those conversations on and off line."
For tech and politics lovers around the country, Team Rahm Digital is going to be one to watch. I toured their offices this week and caught a glimpse of the hustle and bustle as they start building out a strategy that can maximize the tremendous opportunity to engage this amazing city. Not to knock the inspiring people of Newark, and I loved Mayor Bloomberg's epic @BronxZoosCobra tweet as much as anyone. I just know this is going to take city government to a whole knew level.

"We're putting open government resources in the hands of the public... literally," said Hauswirth. "This data will be the foundation of smart phone apps to help everyone better navigate and enjoy Illinois."

Being able to quickly read people allows you to more effectively build relationships, have more personal impact and more effectively influence. This is an essential skill in leading, coaching and all aspects of developing your interpersonal style and skills. The best leaders, coaches and influencers all take time to really understand who they are working with. You can do it quicker with these ten top tips.
1 Practise moving your focus of attention during conversations so that you become almost a detached observer or video camera watching you and the other person talking. This means moving the focus from you and what you're concerned with to the bigger picture of what's happening in the space between you.
2 Take notice of how they engage in conversation and whether they tend to initiate things or wait for others to start. You are looking for clues as to where their focus and energy is so notice if they tend to think before speaking (an inward focus) or bounce ideas off others (an external focus)
3 Consider how they describe things and how much detail they give. Do they tend to use short phrases to just give a flavour or do they give lengthy descriptions with lots of specifics about situations? This tells you how they work with data and how they like to gather information.
4 Mentally record whether they tend to talk about things in a logical, objective way or use words and examples about feelings, values and motives. Listen particularly when they are describing a decision or choice they have made and notice whether there were personal issues considered or just logic and rationality.
5 Notice how they seem to think about time and planning. Do they seem to have a structured way of working and organising themselves or do they seem to enjoy a more spontaneous and flexible approach? There are clues in their descriptions and thoughts about future plans, projects and work deadlines
6 Use your information from the previous four areas to form pictures with keywords that describes the person you are studying or reading. Outgoing or Self-Contained? Detail Focus or Summaries? Feelings or Logic? Organised or Spontaneous? The will help you engage with them in a way that they are comfortable with.
7 Notice when you are talking versus listening and get used to doing much more of the latter. Don't jump in with a "that reminds me of" personal experience of your own. Become focussed and curious about people and build mental pictures as they speak - then ask questions about the pictures.
8 Ask questions which are about more than facts and basic data. Develop some words which you are comfortable with which ask people about what their thinking is concerning something they've just said or how they feel about a particular topic they have raised. Keep building your pictures from their answers.
9 When you have built a basic relationship with them, (you'll know because they answer your questions about their thinking and feelings) consider asking a "Why" question. These are more personal so don't be in a hurry. Your purpose here is to start understanding their values and what's important to them.
10 Keep checking your initial judgments and observations with your mental video camera switched on and notice whether there is evidence for what you guessed or assumed from the earlier conversations. Test your assumptions by asking questions or just listening to them talk to others and noticing how they are speaking.
Your ability to read and interact effectively with a wide range of people is an essential business skill in fast moving markets where making contacts, understanding their needs and being able to customise your offering to their style is essential. Practise these ten skills and recognise how much you learn about people by tuning in and really connecting.

Smurf fans around the world are celebrating the birthday of the famous cartoon strip's creator and awaiting a new blockbuster movie adaptation. But could the blue creatures offer a model for society?
There is a place where the neighbours are always willing to lend a hand, where everyone has a certain skill and is willing to employ it, without personal reward, for the benefit of everyone.
Before you think about checking out property prices in the area, bear in mind that the neighbours are blue, stand three apples high and live in mushroom-like houses.
The Smurfs, created in 1958 by the Belgian artist Pierre Culliford also known as Peyo, have proved hugely popular.
Their original name is Les Schtroumpfs, a word born during a meal Peyo was having with his friend in which, having temporarily forgotten the word "salt", Peyo asked him to pass the schtroumpf.
The two continued to talk, in French, using that word instead of recognised terms, and so the concept was born.
Later Peyo, already a successful artist whose father was English and mother Belgian, introduced little blue imp-like creatures into his existing stories about a medieval page and his sidekick, called Johan and Peewit.
The Smurfs - as these creatures are called in English, having been taken from the Dutch name De Smurfen - were an instant hit and following pleas from children, Peyo began a dedicated comic strip.
In 1981, Hanna-Barbera began to produce a cartoon series that resulted in 256 episodes, dubbed into some 30 languages and still being shown on more than 120 television channels around the world today.
Peyo died of a heart attack on Christmas Eve in 1992, but his family's work - his son Thierry runs his studio - continued.
Saturday is Global Smurfs Day, an event which celebrates the birthday of Peyo. It's also intended to whip up interest in the forthcoming Smurfs movie, due to be released in August starring Hank Azaria as Gargamel and Katy Perry as the voice of Smurfette - the first of a trilogy of films.
IMPS is run by Veronique Culliford and William Auriol Each Smurf is known by their particular skill - Handy for the one who's good at DIY, Brainy for the clever one, Barber for the one who cuts hair etc. They're all organised by Papa Smurf, the eldest and wisest one, and their village is run as a collective without any use of currency.
Devoid of any particular cultural cues, the Smurfs have proved popular around the world.
"They are unique creations. They don't do politics or religion, they are multi-cultural, everybody around the world can recognise themselves in a Smurf," says Peyo's daughter, Veronique Culliford, who started International Merchandising, Promotion and Services in 1984 to look after the Smurf merchandising.
"Everyone can apply their very nice values of friendship, kindness and helping others to their own lives, regardless of where they come from."
But there is evidence of their genesis in 1950s Belgium. The lack of female characters - there are only three, and only one of them major - is down to the influence of the Catholic Church in education, says Willem de Graeve, director of the Belgian Comic Strip Center in Brussels.

"That was a totally different era, when there was a very strong separation of genders in Belgium. This was a consequence of the Catholic education. It was not the done thing to show boys and girls having an adventure together."
And Peyo did occasionally use the Smurfs to convey political messages, such as in the King Smurf story, where one character seizes authoritarian control of the village in a metaphor that's anti-dictatorship.
There has even been debate about whether the artist intended the Smurfs to be a metaphor for socialism, but there is room for anyone with a political ideology that emphasises co-operation and community to interpret them through their own prism.
The Smurfs lived without money, using their individual skills for the common good, without individual reward, to ensure their community thrives.
You can even see echoes of the British government's Big Society idea, part of which encourages individuals to form community groups and engage in social action, particularly through volunteering, says Prof Ellis Cashmore, a sociologist from Staffordshire University.
"There are similarities between David Cameron's idea of the Big Society and what we see embodied in Smurf society.
"Cameron [is asking people to get] organised with their local community, have organic collectivity and work for each other, like we used to before industrialisation came along and fragmented society."
Smurfs have done overt politics more recently - in 2005, a Unicef advertisement featuring Smurfs was aired in Belgium, in which their village is bombed by aircraft, to raise funds for African children.
The Smurf empire is moving onto new platforms, taking advantage of the social gaming trend. A Smurf smartphone game targeted at women aged between 18 and 34 has had 12 million downloads so far.
