What: Radio Emergency Communications Drill Where: Gardner Seveney Sports Complex, Glen Farm, East Main Road., Portsmouth When: begins Saturday at 2 p.m. and runs 24 hours until Sunday at 2 p.m. How much: Free Details: Local amateur radio operators conduct a 24-hour emergency communications drill, transforming a rugby field into a self-contained communications camp, sending and receiving thousands of radio messages across town, across the country and around the globe.

What: St. Barnabas Church?s 36th annual festival Where: St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Rd., Portsmouth When: Friday, 5 p.m. start, Saturday, noon start, Sunday, 9 a.m. start, rides open at noon How much: Free admission Details: Food, rides, games, raffles and music highlight this annual event. Hypnotist/magician/comedian Peter Mamos show Friday at 7:30 p.m. Discount ride tickets will be on sale Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 12 to 2 p.m. A live auction will be held 12:30 p.m. on Sunday with items including Red Sox tickets, a Kindle, iPod and a Block Island package up for bid.

What: Tiverton cheerleader car wash Where: The Moose Cafe, 1160 Stafford Rd., Tiverton When: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. How much: Donations, please Details: All donations will support the Tiverton High School cheerleading team.

What: Land Matters walk and talk Where: The Gibbs House, St. Mary?s Church, East Main Road, Portsmouth When: 9 a.m. How much: Free Details: Hosted by the Aquidneck Island Land Trust, the one to two hour walk will tour the woods, fields and wetlands that make up the St. Mary?s Church land that the AILT is working to conserve. What: Amicable Summer Fair Where: Amicable Congregational Church, 3736 Main Road, Tiverton When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. How much: Free Details: The annual old-fashioned summer fair features children?s games, a silent auction, and a white elephant sale including children?s toys, jewelry, books and plants. Lunch items, including a salad bar, subs, hot dogs, grinders, nachos and sundaes will be available outside under the tent.

What: Dog Day of Summer Where: Potter League, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown When: 10 a.m. to noon How much: $20, pre-registration required Details: Dogs can try their paws at Frisbee, sand-digging, agility tests and more. Potter League training staff will be on hand to offer tips and tricks. every pet will go home with a doggie bag. Rain or shine. What: Used book sale benefit Where: Blackthorn, Simmons Road, little Compton When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. How much: The sale will benefit the Christopher Medeiros Memorial Scholarship Fund administered by the Citizen?s Scholarship Foundation of little Compton. Rain date is Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

What: Rolie Polie Guacamole in concert Where: The Meeting House, 3850 Main Road, Tiverton When: 4 p.m. How much: Free Details: made up by Frank Gallo and Andrew Tuzhilin, this Brooklyn band been playing concerts, festivals, private parties and schools on the east coast since 2006. Songs include ?Museum of Natural History? and ?Always Brush your Teeth.?

What: Lobster supper Where: ?Old Stone? Church, 7 old Stone Church Rd., Tiverton When: 6 p.m. How much: $25, must be purchased in advance Details: Dinner includes clam chowder, boiled lobster, corn on the cob, baked potato, roll, beverage and choice from variety of desserts. What: 70s Disco Benefit Where: Holy Ghost Club, 179 Sodom Rd., Westport When: 6 p.m. to midnight How much: $15 Details: Benefits A Wish come true, inc. and Westport Autism. Includes chicken dinner, DJ , silent auction, reffle, and more.

What: 15th Annual Sculpture Exhibit opening at Tiverton four Corners Where: The Meeting House, 3850 Main Road, Tiverton When: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. how much: Free Details: The free exhibit will run through Labor Day during daylight hours, but the opening reception offers visitors the added bonus of refreshments and music by Boston-based Woza Moya. The exhibits theme is upcycling and repurposing the urban landscape in a rural setting. The exhibit is dedicated to Houston Scott, a member of the four Corners Arts board who passed away earlier this year.
