Citizens Telephone Cooperative announced recently the launch of a new service for the 98-year-old company. Citizens will now offer LifeSentry Medic Alert service. Branded as Citizens MedicAlert, the world?s smallest two-way voice speakerphone pendant is now available for purchase or lease through the cooperative.
Customers subscribing to Citizens MedicAlert will receive a small unique patented emergency pendant that ensures two-way voice communication from anywhere in and around the home to a central station for assistance from a 24/7 call center for local emergency services.
Citizens Medic Alert by LifeSentry is not a traditional Personal Emergency Response System. In the United States, the Personal Emergency Response System market is a $1 billion a year industry. Everyone is familiar with the ads saying ?I?ve fallen and can?t get up.? All of these systems work similarly. A speakerphone box is located somewhere in your home. When you push the button on your pendant ?- the speakerphone box dials out to a central station who then communicates to you from the speakerphone box in your home.
With competitor systems, you need to experience your emergency in the same room as the speaker-phone box to easily communicate. Citizens MedicAlert has a unique feature that makes it stand out as truly innovative in the marketplace. Citizens MedicAlert by LifeSentry is the world?s smallest two-way voice communicator; with two-way duplex voice right through the pendant. Traditional products require a person to shout across the house to a speakerphone box to communicate to the monitoring station. Using LogicMark?s patented technology, Citizens MedicAlert puts the speaker-phone right in the miniature pendant. You can be anywhere in or around your home and communicate effortlessly. Communication is to the central station of your choice using the industry standard Contact ID protocol.
?The true innovation of LifeSentry is that it gives full two-way voice coverage from anywhere in and around your home and yard,? said LogicMark President Mark Gottlieb.??You can be in the shower, in the garage or even in the front, side or back yard ? and you have communication. No need to shout across the house to the speakerphone box of the traditional units.?
Also available for use with Citizens MedicAlert is the emergency wall communicator, an accessory that gives a user a permanent-mount two-way voice communicator. These wireless little devices (not much bigger than a cellphone) are full two-way voice communicators?that?run for more than a year on a few AAA batteries and are designed to mount right to the wall with screws or double-stick Velcro. Put one by the bedside ? and one in the bathroom where many serious accidents happen. So, if at 3 a.m., you forget to bring your pendant with you to the bathroom ? you have one right there in the event you should need it. Simply push the button ? and you are in two-way voice communication with the central station. The Emergency Wall Communicator is fully water resistant. You can even mount it in the shower. Each MedicAlert unit can learn up to a total of four pendants and emergency wall communicators.
?Citizens MedicAlert enables residents to live independently with the security of knowing that help is a press of a button away,? said Lori Saltus, EVP of Customer Relations. Citizens MedicAlert comes with one pendant (additional available for purchase), one base unit that contains back-up battery power in case of an electrical power outage, a lanyard, a wrist holder, and a belt clip for a variety of ways to wear the pendant.
